Important Notice : Advisory for YouTube™ upload operations

The disc drive cannot be recognized after installing MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC.
If possible, remove the writing software of other company and reinstall MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC.
MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC does not work properly.
Exit MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC and restart the computer.
My camcorder is not recognized by the computer.
Check the following :
  • Have you installed MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC ?
  • Have you turned on the camcorder ?
  • Is the USB cable connected to the computer properly ?
    If the USB cable is connected properly and is not recognized, connect to another USB port of the computer.
  • Disconnect the USB cable, then restart the computer and reconnect the camcorder with the computer in the correct procedure.
  • If the camcorder is connected via a USB hub, connect the camcorder directly to the computer.
  • If any resident software is installed, exit and connect the camcorder.
MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC does not fit in the computer screen.
This occurs when screen resolution is below 1024x768. Select resolution above 1024x768 in Screen properties.
What are the supported discs ?
You can write on the following discs.
Check if your drive supports the disc that you use.
DVD-R、DVD-R DL
DVD+R、DVD+R DL
DVD-RW
DVD+RW
BD-R、BD-R DL
BD-RE、BD-RE DL
I exited from the resident application by mistake.
You can start up from [ Start ] menu - [ All Programs ] - [ Startup ] - [ Device Monitor SE ].
When using MP3 files, the playback and playback time display are not properly operated.
The MP3 file of VBR (Variable Bit Rate) is not supported.
Create a MP3 file of other bit rate type or use the music files after converting to WAV format.
I can't add music files in WAV format.
Only the WAV format of 32KHz/44.1KHz/48KHz stereo and monaural is supported.
Convert to this WAV format before adding as a music file.
What is the "Video bit rate" appeared in the file information ?
It indicates the maximum video bit rate for each mode.
The actual bit rate varies depending on the recorded content and is different from the value displayed on the screen.
The length of the playback time and position of the text in the edited file is different from that I intended.
If you wish to edit these elements frame by frame, check the editing result on the preview screen before exporting.
I cannot play back the video file longer than 15 minutes on YouTube™.
The video file longer than 15 minutes cannot be uploaded due to YouTube™’s specifications.
Shorten the file using [ Length ] in the [ Edit Movies ].
Always select the picture quality other than [ Direct ] when uploading. You may not be able to play back the file when selecting [ Direct ].
I cannot play back AVCHD discs created by MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC.
To play back an AVCHD disc, you need a compliant DVD player.
Check if your player supports AVCHD standard.
Use "MediaBrowser™ SE Player for JVC" when playing back on a computer.
Be careful not to insert an AVCHD disc to a non-compliant player.
It may cause a malfunction.
I can’t upload to YouTube™ / Facebook®
Upload the converted files from YouTube™ / Facebook® Web site directly after converting files to .wmv format from [ Share ] button.
If you installed security software, the connection between MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC and the Web site may be blocked.
Allow MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC to access to the internet in this case.
Contact the security software maker for how to allow specified software to access to the Internet.

I can't export to iTunes®.
iTunes® and QuickTime® is required for exporting.

The destination to backing up the files is full.
Return to Step 1 and specify the new destination in the Preferences.
The list of the files in the Browser screen is not updated even after replacing the memory cards.
If you replaced the memory card after the files are displayed on the Browser screen, it will take a long time to read the information of the replaced card.
Be careful not to replace the cards while MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC is working on the files.
I can't create DVD-Video discs.
Download the DVD-Video disc creation software and install it to your computer.

The script error dialog appears in the login screen of Facebook® upload.
If you use Internet Explorer® 8 or previous versions, the error message appears due to Facebook®'s operation failure during login, however the login is valid.
Since the error message does not affect the operation, click [ Yes ] or [ No ] to exit the message.
When uploading to Facebook® the button to proceed to the next screen does not appear in the message from Facebook®.
If you use Internet Explorer® 6 on Windows® XP, the button is hidden since the message window size is too small.
Enlarge the window size by dragging the window frame.
The file conversion fails when I export video files to upload to a video sharing site.
This problem occurs when your Windows® Media Player version is old.
Download the latest Windows® Media Player and install it to your computer.
I want to delete MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC from my computer.
Follow the procedure below to delete(uninstall) the software : Windows® XP Users
  1. Click the [ Start ] menu on the Desktop screen.
  2. Click [ Control Panel ].
  3. Double-click [ Add or Remove Programs ].
  4. Select "MediaBrowser SE for JVC"and click [ Remove ].
  5. Follow the instructions displayed on the window to uninstall.
Windows® 7 / Windows Vista® Users
  1. Click the Start menu on the Desktop screen.
  2. Click [ Control Panel ].
  3. Double-click [ Uninstall a program ].
  4. Select "MediaBrowser SE for JVC" and click [ Remove ].
  5. Follow the instructions displayed on the window to uninstall.
Windows® 8 Users :
  1. Display the charm by hovering the mouse cursor on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select the [Settings] charm.
  3. Click [Control Panel].
  4. Click [Uninstall a program].
  5. Select "MediaBrowser SE for JVC" and click [Uninstall].
  6. Follow the instructions displayed on the window to uninstall.
I can't install the software with the message "MediaBrowser has already been installed."
If you have already installed the another version of MediaBrowser™, uninstall it first. After that, install MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC.
* MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC can also read the video files imported by the previous version.
The error message telling that the free space in the workplace is insufficient appears.
This message appears when the free space in the workplace is running short.
Go to [Preferences] in the [Settings] menu and change the workplace to the drive with sufficient free space.
* If you don't have any alternative drive, spare the free space at least three times the volume of the video files to handle in the working drive.
When I inserted a disc, the message telling that the disc is not supported appears.
Check if you inserted a supported disc. If it's supported, replace with another disc.
Specifications and system requirements
The error message telling that the video system is different appears.
Go to [ Preferences ] in the [ Settings ] menu and check if you chose the video system supported by your camcorder.
I want to change the title of each video file to be written on the disc.
Follow the procedures below;
  1. In the Library screen, select the video file to change the title and click the info button (icon with letter "i").
  2. Click the [Options] tab when the file information column is displayed in the left of the screen.
  3. Enter the new title in the box.
I can't play back the disc that I created.
If you create the disc with following options, the disc format will be AVCHD and only played back with players that supports AVCHD.
  • Disc type selection: [DVD disc for video & data recording]
  • Player type: [Players supporting AVCHD]
If you don't have a player supporting AVCHD, create a disc with following options. The disc format will be DVD-Video and can be played back on the players which do not support AVCHD.
  • Disc type selection: [DVD disc for video & data recording]
  • Player type: [Other DVD/Blu-ray players]
I don't want to display the date when playing back a created disc.
You can't change the settings with MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC. If your player has subtitle display settings, you can hide the display since the date information is written as subtitles.
When playing back a DVD-Video disc, incorrect date is displayed while turning on subtitles.
If the contents in the disc consist of AVCHD and MP4/MOV files, the date from other file may be wrongly displayed while turning on subtitles. Turn off subtitles in this case.
I want to delete all the video files including the thumbnails in the Library screen and original files.
Delete the original files in the following procedures;
  1. In the Library screen, right-click the file to delete and select [Delete].
  2. Select [Delete completely] in the message displayed.
I want to delete only the thumbnails in the Library screen.
Delete thumbnails in the following procedures;
  1. In the Library screen, right-click the file to delete thumbnail and select [Delete].
  2. Select [Keep files] in the message displayed.
* Even after deleting the thumbnails, you can import those files again.
Import files from [Add files to Library...] in the [File] menu
"!" marking (cannot find this file) appears on the thumbnail in the Library screen.
This marking appears when you move/delete the imported file with other application or change the file name without using MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC. You can't operate the video files with this marking since MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC cannot find them.
  • If you have moved the imported files by mistake, restore the file or import again from [Add files to Library...] in the [File] menu.
  • If you have already deleted the imported files, restore the files from the camcorder.
I want to use imported video files with other applications.
You can convert imported video files to WMV format using the video sharing function.
WMV format is supported by Windows and widely supported by various applications.
The picture quality of the video uploaded to YouTube™ is low.
Click [Settings] in the YouTube™ upload screen and select [Direct].
* This method may not work if YouTube™ converts the video automatically.
Video is not played back smoothly and/or the color of the image is strange.
When starting MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC, the menu bar is displayed in a different language.
You may have installed other language by mistake or internal information has been damaged.
Install MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC again.
I want to move the imported video files to an external hard disk.
Follow the procedures below;
  1. Drag & drop the video files from the folder in which the original video files are stored to that of external hard disk using Windows Explorer or such.
    (Note that "!" marking appears on the thumbnails in the Library screen and you will not be able to operate these files.)
    * If you copy the files, "!" marking does not appear since the files remain in the original location.
  2. In the Library screen, right-click the files with "!" markings and select [Delete].
    This will erase the files with the markings from the Library.
  3. Re-import video files moved to an external hard disk from [Add folder to Library...] in the [File] menu.
Where is the video files in the camcorder saved to ?
Video files in the camcorder will be saved to the following location by default. Windows® XP: C:\Documents and Settings\(user account name)\My Documents\My Video\MediaBrowser SE for JVC
* Files are saved to [My Documents] if [My Video] does not exist.
Windows® 8/Windows® 7/Windows Vista® : C:\User\(user account name)\Videos\MediaBrowser SE for JVC
* Files are saved to [Documents] if [Videos] does not exist.
I want to change the destination to save imported video files.
Follow the procedures below ;
  1. Click the [Settings] menu and select [Preferences].
  2. Click the [Browse] button of the Primary destination in the Library destination settings.
  3. Specify the destination.
  4. Click [OK].
The message "No files to backup." appears.
The video files once imported before are excluded in the next backup.
To import these files again, go to [Preferences] in the [Settings] menu and click the [Reset] button of "Reset all Imported Marks".
Importing video files takes a long time.
  • It takes a long time if you import a large file or many files in a batch.
  • Importing time may vary depending on the contents of the video files and computer configurations such as CPU performance and memory capacity. (It is recommended to exit all the software other than MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC when importing.)
  • Connect the camcorder to another USB port. (If you use a desktop computer, connecting to the USB port on the back may process faster.)
I want to combine some video files into a single file.
Follow the procedures below ;
  1. Start MediaBrowser™ SE for JVC.
  2. Click the movie edit button in the bottom left of the screen.
  3. Select the editing mode according to the video files to combine.
  4. Drag & drop the video file to the Storyboard.
    (You can arrange the playback order by dragging & dropping the files in the Storyboard.)
  5. Click [Next].
  6. Click [Next] when the preview screen appears.
  7. Click [Start] in the export setting screen.
* Refer to the Software Guide in the [Help] menu for the details of the operations.
I can't add music files.
You can use the music files of .mp3 and .wav format.
Check if the music files are supported.
The icon of the camcorder is not displayed in the Source pane.
The camcorder icon will disappear if the SD Memory Card in the camcorder is ejected.
Insert the card and press [ F5 ] on the keyboard in the Browser screen to display the icon again.
I can't log on/upload to YouTube™
Depending on your account type, you may not be able to log on nor upload to YouTube™.
* Refer to Product News and "Download".
The audio in the edited file is intermissive.
If the original video is composed of multiple files, import such videos by the backup function.
