- 3-1. Can I import video files that were recorded with other Canon camcorders released before ?

You can import following files :
- Video files recorded with the CANON camcorder with which VideoBrowser Ver.2 is bundled.
- Video files that were edited and exported using above video files with VideoBrowser Ver.2.
- Video files written on a disc using VideoBrowser Ver.2. *1
- Video files recorded with the CANON camcorder with which any of ImageMixer™ 3 SE below is bundled.
- Video files that were edited and exported using any of ImageMixer™ 3 SE below.
- Video files written on a disc using any of ImageMixer™ 3 SE below. *1

- ImageMixer™ 3 SE
- ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.3
- ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.5
- ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.6
- *1 Except for DVD-Video discs.
- 3-2. My camcorder is not recognized by the computer.

Check the following :
- Have you installed VideoBrowser Ver.2 (or Transfer Utility Ver.2) ?
- Have you turned on the camcorder ?
- Is the camcorder powered using the compact power adapter ?
- Is the USB cable connected to the computer properly ?
- Is the camcorder switched to the movie playback mode ?
Operate following procedures if the camcorder is still not recognized.
- Connect to another USB port of the computer.
- Disconnect the USB cable, then restart the computer and reconnect the camcorder with the computer following the correct procedure.
- Disconnect any USB devices other than the camcorder, keyboard, and mouse.
- If the camcorder is connected via a USB hub, connect the camcorder directly to the computer.
- If software is running in the background, exit them and connect the camcorder again.
- 3-3. Importing stops halfway.

Try another USB port of the computer.
For desktop computers, try the USB port on the back.
- 3-4. It takes a long time to import video from the camcorder to the computer.

- It takes a long time when importing many files in one batch or importing a large video file.
- When importing, close all software other than VideoBrowser Ver.2.
- Processing speed may vary depending on your computer's configuration (for example, CPU performance and RAM), or on the content of the video.
- If software is running in the background, exit them before importing.
- Try another USB port of the computer. For desktop computers, try the USB port on the back.
- 3-5. I brought the video files that could be used with ImageMixer™ 3 SE from another computer but VideoBrowser Ver.2 does not import them.

When you brought such files from another computer, you need to import them manually.
Click [Add folder to Library.. ] in the [File] menu on the Library screen, and select the target folder.
- 3-6. ! (Cannot find this file) appears.

You will not be able to operate files in the Library if, for example, you open the folder on Windows in which the imported files are saved, and delete or moved the files in it.
If you moved files by mistake, return them to the original location.
If you deleted the files, import them again.
- 3-7. I want to save the video file which have been imported to the computer to an external hard disk.

- Open the folder in an external hard disk on Windows Explorer and drag & drop the video file to it.
(! marking will appear on the moved files on the VideoBrowser Ver.2's Library screen.
You can't use these files on VideoBrowser Ver.2 any more.) - Select the files with ! marking on the VideoBrowser Ver.2's Library screen and click the delete button on the upper right of the screen.
This operation deletes the files with ! marking. - Click [Add folder to Library.. ] in the [File] menu on the Library screen, and select the folder that you have saved the video file.
- * When you moved the files stored in an internal hard disk to an external hard disk, the files remains in the Library.
- * Please note that the information such as the recording date and the titles altered with VideoBrowser Ver.2 will be erased when saving onto an external hard disk.
- Open the folder in an external hard disk on Windows Explorer and drag & drop the video file to it.
- 3-8. I want to import a video file which have been saved after converting the file format.

You can't import the video files that you have converted the file format.
- 3-9. When I inserted a SD Memory Card to a card reader, VideoBrowser Ver.2 does not recognize the card while the computer recognize it.。

You can't import from SD Memory Card inserted to computer's slot and a card reader.
Insert the card to the camcorder and connect the camcorder to the computer.
When the card stores the video files recorded with the camcorder or video files exported from VideoBrowser Ver.2, you can import them.
- 3-10. I want to change the destination to save imported video files.

- Click [Preferences...] of the [Settings] menu in the Library screen.
- Click [Browse...].
- Specify the destination to save files.
- Click [OK].
- * You can change the destination when importing files from the camcorder.
* Click [Preferences...] in the [Settings] menu.
- 3-11. I want to know the destination of the video files imported from the camcorder.

C: \Documents and Settings\(user account name)\My Documents\My Video\Import Video Data
* If My video folder does not exist, the files will be saved in My document folder.
[Windows® 7/Windows Vista®]
C: \Users\(user account name)\videos\Import Video Data
* If Video folder does not exist, the files will be saved in Documents folder.
