Setup - I can't install "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
"ImageMixer™ 3 SE" can be installed to the computers running Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista.
Setup - I can't start "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
To install and use "ImageMixer™ 3 SE", you must be authorized as an Administrator.
Please check the type of your user account.
Setup - There is a menu not selectable in [ImageMixer™ 3 Launcher].
Following menu items cannot be selected when the camcorder is not connected.
- [Create Disc]
- [Save Computer]
- [Write Back to Camcorder]
Input - My camcorder is not recognized by the computer.
Check the following :
1. Have you installed "ImageMixer™ 3 SE" ?
2. Have you turned on the camcorder ?
3. Is the camcorder powered using the compact power adapter ?
4. Is the USB cable connected to the computer properly ?
- Disconnect the USB cable, then restart computer and reconnect the camcorder with the computer in correct order.
- Try another USB port.
- Disconnect any USB devices other than the camcorder, keyboard, and mouse.
- If the camcorder is connected via an USB hub, connect the camcorder directly to the computer.
Input - I can't transfer videos from the camcorder to the computer.
Try another USB port of the computer.
For desktop computers, try the USB port on the back.
Disconnect any USB devices other than the camcorder, keyboard, and mouse.
Input - It takes a long time to import video from the camcorder to the computer.
It takes a long time when importing many files in one batch or importing a large video file.
Before importing videos, exit from other software and if possible, exit from the resident software as well.
Processing speed may vary depending on your computer's configuration or on the content of the video.
Input - Where are the imported videos saved ?
Windows Vista
Computer/Video ([My Document] folder if [My Video] folder does not exist)/IMxLibrary/CANON/date folder (e.g.20080307)

Playback - I want to change the screen size.
Select the screen size from the [View] menu, or drag the edge of the window.
Playback - The video in the camcorder is not played back smoothly.
Depending on the content, it may not be played back smoothly because of USB transfer rate limitations.
It is recommended to add these videos to the Library and play back.
Also, processing speed may vary depending on your computer's configuration or on the content of the video, and content may not be played back smoothly.
Playback - I can't play back full high definition video on my computer.
Full high definition-ready player is required.
Use "ImageMixer™ 3 SE Player" for playback.
Playback - I can't play back video with "ImageMixer 3 SE Player".
"ImageMixer™ 3 SE Player" can play following file formats:
File : MPEG-2, H.264
Disc : Disc in AVCHD standard created with "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
Playback - I can't playback the created AVCHD disc.
Use "ImageMixer™ 3 SE Player" for playing back on the computer.
When using commercial player, use a product supporting "AVCHD standard".
Playback - When I play back the video imported from the camcorder, the video is not played back smoothly or green screen is displayed and does not change.
These phenomenon occurs when the computer does not meet the system requirements.
Check System requirements/Limitations.
Library - ! (Cannot find this file) appears.
"ImageMixer™ 3 SE" cannot find files if, for example, the files are moved, deleted or changed names in "Explorer" after being added to the Library.
Select [Add Files to Library] from the [File] menu to add videos.
If you are using removable media such as a USB memory, save the video files to the computer in advance, before adding them to the Library.
Library - I want to reset all the Imported marks.
Select [Preferences...] from the [Settings] menu and click [Reset].
Library - I can't arrange the order of the videos in a Smart Album.
In Smart Albums, files cannot be sorted by drag & drop.
In Smart Albums, you can arrange files by clicking the item headings.
Library - I want to close the File Information panel.
Click [Information] again.
Library - I can't transfer exported videos for iTunes to iPod.
"iTunes" is required to transfer files to the iPod.
You can download "iTunes" from the Web site of Apple Inc.
Use "iTunes" to transfer the exported file to your iPod.

Edit - It takes a long time to save the video edited with "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
It takes a long time if the video format of the project setting differs from that the original file.
Also, processing speed may vary depending on your computer's configuration or on the content of the video.
Before editing videos, exit from other software and if possible, exit from the resident software as well.
Edit -The edit video size becomes larger than the original.
If re-encoding is applied to the edited contents, file size may become larger than the original.
Edit - When I export edit result, exported file does not appear on the Library.
Edited files are not added to the Library automatically.
Select [Add Files to Library] from the [File] menu to add to the Library.
Edit - Where are the edited files saved ?
Files are saved in the location you select in the dialog shown when saving.
The default setting is as follows :
Location of the original video file/Edit/edited date folder
Write - Disc drive is not detected.
Drives may not be detected if writing software (packet writing) is installed.
Write - What disc types are supported ?
Writing to following disc types is supported :
Check the supported disc type of your computer's drive.
- DVD-R
- DVD-R DL
- DVD-RW
Write - It takes a long time to write to a disc.
Processing speed may vary depending on your computer's configuration,for example CPU performance and memory capacity, or on the content of the video.
Write - I can't write to a 8cm disc.
Select [Browsing & Authoring] in the "ImageMixer™ 3 Launcher" screen to write to a 8 cm disc.
You can't write to a 8cm disc from [Create Disc].
Write - I can't write to a disc.
It may be considered that the writing drive does not support the disc, or "ImageMixer™ 3 SE" does not support the disc.
Check "What disc types are supported ?" and disc types supported by the writing drive.
Write - When I use rewritable disc whose recorded data I erased, disc creation fails sometimes.
You cannot write the disc whose content has been erased with the software other than "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
When using a recorded rewritable disc, insert the disc as it is and erase the recorded data using the writing options of "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
Write - I want to change the menu title.
The name of the list which you created for writing a disc will be the menu title.
Write - I want to change the thumbnail titles displayed on the menu screen.
Follow the below steps to change :
1. Select the file to change name in the Library
2. Click the [Information] button
3. Click the [Options] tab
4. Enter the new name in the [Title]
Write - All of the menu title/title names on the menu screen is not displayed.
The number of characters which can be displayed in the menu screen is limited.The number changes depending on the characters used. Refer to the following as a guide :
DVD List : Approximately 15 characters, approximately 20 bytes
AVCHD List : Approximately 20 characters, approximately 30 bytes
Write - I can't write back to the camcorder.
You can write back the following videos as long as they have the same video format and video system as that of the camcorder.
- Videos saved on the computer from the camcorder with which "ImageMixer ™3 SE" is bundled.
- Above videos which have been edited with "ImageMixer™ 3 SE".
Write - The instructions on screen "Data is too large to write to" appears.
Decrease the total capacity of the files.
On one DVD, data up to 4.7GB, and on one DVD DL, up to 8.5GB can be written.
Write - The instructions on screen "Not enough disk space for the workspace." appears.
Is there enough free space in the workspace on the computer ?
Free space at least twice the volume of data to be written on the disc is required for creating a disc.
General - I have lost Software CD-ROM bundled with my camcorder.
